8 Years

....8 years ago today, a tragedy occurred, many people lost their lives, many families were hurt, no matter what the country's economic crisis is like, no matter who is president, we will always remember that day.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “
- President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

..... we will remember the heroes: the firefighters who died while saving others, the passengers of united flight 93, who sacrificed their lives to save the lives of many others, the troops that are still out there defending America, and everyone who put aside their safety to help others.

"Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended. Pictures of planes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger. America was targeted...because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world."
- George W. Bush, the evening of 9/11/01
